Summer has certainly seen Bass Kleph on a hot streak. In early June came his collab with Jim Frew ‘Gum’, swiftly followed by his massive ‘Less Is More’, championed by the likes of TJR and still climbing the Beatport charts. Now, Bass Kleph is set to release another big room smash with ‘Back To Funk’ dropping July 29th on Germany’s Great Stuff Records.

As its name suggests ‘Back To Funk’ showcases a groovier side to Bass Kleph’s sound, he kicks off with an opening featuring horn samples and disco tinged synths. But as the vocal chant ‘Back’ urges the track forward, so Bass Kleph raises the intensity, moving into more propulsive darker driving house sounds.

Founded in November 2003 in Munich, Great Stuff’s has emerged as a powerhouse for quality dance music. From its early beginnings pushing German talent to flourishing in the electro house heyday with acts like Mason, GusGus, Coburn and The Egg, then helping to break artists in the minimal techno zeitgeist like Butch, Ramon Tapia and Gregor Tresher, through to its current incarnation as an eclectic house and tech label, Great Stuff has always moved effortlessly with the times. Its development has never been forced or contrived, instead focusing on the most exciting house and techno flavours of the moment, whatever the era.
