Eric Prydz today unveiled his new Pryda EP. It’s a classic slice of the inimitable Pryda sound that has defined the label’s output over the last ten years, and united the dance community. Pryda 028 is the first Pryda release to ever contain four tracks, and comes hot on the heels of the anthemic Eric Prydz summer hit ‘Liberate’.
These four tracks – Mija, Origins, Backdraft , & Axis show another side to Pryda, one firmly rooted in the label’s club roots. Pryda 028 speaks to Prydz’ love of dark rooms and late nights, dancefloors with their heads down – audiences losing themselves in a journey, surrendering to the music, rather than demanding another recognizable drop.
Pryda 028 another genre defining release for Pryda – its house music but first and foremost it’s Pryda. The EP’s intricate blend and layering of harmonies and hooks, replete with that distinctive Prydz touch for melody, combine to make club music that just couldn’t come from anyone else.
Ten years and 28 releases in, Prydz and his Pryda label remain in the enviable position of straddling a line between the overground and underground, an achievement that is ever more difficult in the polarized world of contemporary electronic music.
Whether it’s a mainstage slot, or a dark after-hours session as his techno alias Cirez D, Prydz fans have come to expect something different and unique from the Swede. At a time when EDM festival mainstages homogenate, Prydz seems to stand further and further apart. This Pryda EP is an uncompromising exploration of the style and sound that define one of dance music’s truly singular talents.
Pryda 028 will be released on August 4, 2014 Exclusively on Beatport

Get Lost is fast becoming one of LA’s favorite late summer rituals, a bewitching day and night session, gathering the city’s Rebel Ravers, discerning dance-heads, and those adventurous pilgrims about to set off for the Black Rock desert.
This August, Get Lost returns to the remarkable environs of the Egyptian Theatre – a venue steeped in the era of a bygone civilization; a bastion of mysticism, spirits, Gods and Demons. At a time when US mainstage dance music becomes ever more bombastic, these themes of spirituality have increasingly come to define the dance floor explorations of Lazarus and his Crosstown Rebels crew, notably on Lazarus’ forthcoming live album project.
It is fitting then that Get Lost LA will see the introduction of a brand new sonic experiment from Lazarus, four DJs casting one truly magic spell. Wizardry: The Get Lost Afterhours will feature Acid Pauli, Damian Lazarus, DJ Tennis and Three playing back-to-back all night at Create after the opening set from Bill Patrick. Anyone who has caught Acid Pauli’s 18 hour sets at Berlin’s iconic Bar 25, sampled the punk-techno and disco of Life and Death’s revered founder DJ Tennis, or been aware of Three’s historic impact on the US dance scene will know that this trio alongside Damian Lazarus, is a set not to be missed. Dance floor Wizardry at its finest.
During the day Crosstown Rebels will take over the courtyard of the Egyptian Theatre, bringing other-worldly outdoor revelry to the heart of Hollywood. The aforementioned talents will all take the turntables, and be joined by the fast rising Rebels’ starlet Francesca Lombardo and one of the UK’s most promising live acts Subb-an.
In 2014 Crosstown Rebels celebrates its twelfth years of existence. Damian Lazarus’ current release ‘Lover’s Eyes’, which saw him collaborate with three Pakistani Qawwali singers, is burning up charts and danceloors, and is the first single from his forthcoming live album project Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons. Crosstown Rebels also just announced the third installment of its Day Zero Festival in Mexico on January 10, previous installments have featured the likes of Massive Attack, Mathias Aguayo, Trentemoller, Jamie Jones, Art Department, Simian Mobile Disco, Tiga and more.
In 2014 the label has also had releases from Ali Love, Felix da Housecat’s iconic alias Aphrohead, Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Ida Engberg and Mineo, ensuring Crosstown Rebels continues its twelfth year like every other, at the coal face of bleeding edge underground dance music.

Grammy-nominated producer BT and triple platinum singer-songwriter Christian Burns have revealed that their new supergroup, All Hail The Silence, will open for legendary synthpop group Erasure on The Violet Flame North American tour this fall.
“Vince Clarke of Erasure has been a major musical influence on Christian and me,” says BT. “We’re thrilled to introduce All Hail The Silence to Erasure’s audience and can’t wait to join them on tour.”
Long-time friends and artistic collaborators many times over, the announcement joins the unveiling of BT and Christian’s single, "Paralyzed," which will be released on Enhanced Records in the near future and was debuted on Sirius XM’s BPM on July 22.
Inspired by 80’s New Wave bands like Depeche Mode, Yaz, and The Human League, All Hail The Silence gives BT and Christian the freedom to showcase a different side of themselves artistically and focus on the live music element of their performances. The songs on their upcoming album are being recorded in a basement in Baltimore using step sequencers and modular/analog synthesizers, straight to tape, without the aid of a computer.
“We’re excited for the fans who have supported us throughout the years to join us on this new journey,” says Christian.
Keep an ear to the ground for new music by All Hail The Silence and check to see if they’ll be coming to a city near you on The Violet Flame Tour starting September 2014.

Less than a year since he served up his third album “Urban Animal,” Claude VonStroke delivers more brand new original material! Based on the personal experience of starting at the bottom selling fake perfume out of the the trunk of his car, “CaliFuture” foretells the sunny-sided ironies experienced by the legions of fame and heat-seekers who head out to the Golden State each year in the pursuit of The Dream. No matter how many knock-backs, no matter how many thankless interim occupations, no matter how many people yell at you each day; there’s an overriding deep sense of hope that you WILL make it someday.
It’s a love-story to VonStroke’s DIY California dreams, and Entertainment Weekly has already called it an ‘acid-drecnhed banger’.
The barbed Bootsy-style falsetto narrative comes from VonStroke’s close friend Barry Drift – who you may recognise from ‘Urban Animal’s “Sugar & Cinnamon” – and his sermon is complemented by an obese acid groove that thunders unrelentingly beneath. Fluctuating analogue funk, it taps into the deepest tech DNA with a lava-like flow. Instantly infectious (like all the best acid tracks) the groove carries so much weight we’ve included a dub version, too.
On the flip, “Eye I Eye” is equally heavy and twice as twisted. A simple vocal shot is mangled, wrangled and tangled in the way only Claude knows how. Warped and wonderful, the vocal and processed percussion rise and excite with a strong sense of dirtybird insanity before plunging into juicy tech-funk groove. Mischievously jacking with a robust bass/kick play-off, more processed vocal shots enter the fray along with eerie risers that ghost up and down the scale with a fun sense of unpredictability.
A finer insight into the dark and devious mind of the dirtybird bossman you will not find. The question is: did his hard pre-fame Cali slog create this twisted mindset… Or was it already in place before he got there?
