MEMORIAL WEEKEND 2013 - TOPHER JONES @ INDY 500 SNAKE PIT

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—This Memorial Day Weekend Indy-native Topher Jones will be performing at the renowned Snake Pit presented by Miller Lite alongside EDM heavyweights Afrojack and Diplo during the 97th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In the past year Topher Jones has been taking the EDM world by storm with Beatport chart-topping hits like his college anthem ‘Brohammer,’ which was featured on legendary producer Gareth Emery’s Best of 2012 Mix, ‘Hello Chicago,’ a regular hit at Chicago Bulls games, and his remix of Tritonal & Kaeno’s ‘Azuca’ that jumped 40 spots on Beatport’s Electro House chart in less than a week. With a steady stream of releases on Ultra, OWSLA, Dim Mak, Garuda, Spinnin, and successfully headlining his first international “Hello North America Tour,” Topher’s proven that he’s a force to be reckoned with. Even Billboard recognized the rising stars recent accomplishments, placing him at No. 4 on their Next Big Sound chart late last month.

Though now residing in Chicago, Topher grew up in Indiana attending high school in Zionsville and graduating from DePauw University. While he’s been to many sporting events all over the world, this will be his first Indy 500.

“I can’t think of anything more American than the Indy 500,” Topher Jones said. “So there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than in the Snake Pit pumping up that crowd!”

Located inside Turn 3 in the massive IMS infield, the Snake Pit will open at 7 a.m. on Race Day and will rock IMS until the checkered flag waves. Any fan with a Race Day ticket and free Snake Pit wristband will be admitted.

BURNSKI & MANIK TO RELEASE “YJG” ON CULPRIT MAY 27TH

M A N I K makes his fourth release on Culprit, making him (along with Lee Foss) the label’s true “resident” producer. Alongside him Burnski makes his full debut for Culprit, having been responsible for one of the label’s most memorable songs of 2012 ­ his remix of Subb­an’s ‘What I Do’.

Leeds bred but Berlin based Burnski and NYC’s M A N I K have combined successfully with two well regarded singles for Franck Roger’s Real Tone Records in the past year. This is their third single together, which stretches their musicality to suit Culprit’s sound.

‘Yellow Jacket Girl’ takes the duo’s retro house inspired sound palette and takes into a deeper and more sultry territory, with suggestive lyrics penned and sung by M A N I K adding a subtle element of sleaze to the song’s low slung groove.

Each artist picked a remixer of his choice ­ Leeds connection between Burnski and Laura Jones; M A N I K selecting fellow rider of the techno/disco line Maxxi Soundsystem. Both remixers are artists Culprit has been eager to add to its roster.

12 years since its inception PUNX is back to once again deliver the best and most forward-thinking electronic music that can be found on the planet. Helmed by Andre Tegeler – aka iconic German dance music mainstay MOGUAI – PUNX began life in 2001 presenting new and different releases to the world such as ‘The Rock’, ‘U Know Y’, ‘Get On’ and ‘Freaks’, which were championed by the biggest and best DJs including the likes of Pete Tong and Fatboy Slim. Now, new life has been breathed into the label and there’s a glut of masterful music on its way!

The increasing effect of the music industry’s digitization on the vinyl only imprint – and a resulting change in sound – brought about the hiatus from PUNX for MOGUAI and saw him release on other labels such as Size, Skint and mau5trap, with him bringing out his albums ‘LYVE’ and ‘MPIRE’ on the latter.
